FAQ

What services do you offer?

Short Answer

A wide range of offerings, specializing in wedding, events and portraits.

Long Answer

Try me. First and foremost, I believe the most important aspect of life is love and the power of moments. Hence the tagline- Focus on today. I photograph to capture the love in our lives. Whether it’s love for one another, for new life, for a profession, for a furry friend, it all deserves to be recognized artistically and intentionally. The love of a moment can mean the same. Capturing that senior just before they begin the next exciting chapter of their life. While I enjoy creating unforgettable memories celebrating love, I also really enjoy making all photographic art. Check out the 'fine art' tab to see gallery images ready for purchase. I also believe it is possible to make art out of the least likely subject matter. Try me. I’m sure we can create something beautiful with whatever idea you have in mind. If you are wondering to yourself, ‘does she do this?’, give me a call or a quick message through my contact page.

Do you travel?

Short Answer

Yes.

Long Answer

Yes! Travel under 30 miles from my home in St. Louis Park is included in any package. Beyond this point, $0.50 per mile will be added to the total. Thinking of eloping? Destination weddings are huge this day and age, and yes, accommodating to those needs is very doable. When planning this type of event, it is smartest to book a local photographer to ensure quality and accessibility during and after the big day. So you live in Sioux Falls? You’re in luck! Augustana University is my alma mater so I am always looking for reasons to head back and visit. Let me know your needs around Sioux Falls and I will absolutely give you a discount on travel costs.

Do you carry insurance for your business?

Short Answer

Absolutely.

Long Answer

I have always been a “measure twice, cut once” type of person, so when it comes to equipment and liability insurance, I do not plan on cutting any corners. Some venues require proof of liability insurance from the photographer, which I am happy to provide. That being said, I am happy to provide proof of insurance for any event venue that may inquire.

How far in advance do I need to book a date?

Short Answer

ASAP.

Long Answer

There are many responses for this question. For weddings, it is ideal to book 8-10 months in advance. It’s helpful to know that summer and fall weddings are especially popular in Minnesota, so be sure to keep this in mind as you inquire about the “busy season.” For portrait sessions, event coverage and photographic marketing content, I would suggest starting contact around 3-6 weeks prior to the preferred date. These are not strict requirements, so please take a minute to shoot me an email, text or give me a call. We can always make time for those special moments. I do, however, require on most packages that when a date is booked, half of the package price is due as a non refundable deposit.

How customizable are your packages?

Short Answer

Extremely customizable.

Long Answer

Every client has a unique need for photographs. Collaborating with clients to complete customized projects helps get the creativity flowing and ensures that all parties are on the same page. When you need direction in what you might need, that’s where the classic packages come in! Clients sometimes don’t have time to sit down and hash out every detail. These preassembled packages make booking easy and time efficient.

How do I choose the best images from the shoot?

Short answer

Online.

Long Answer

If it is a portrait session, you will receive a link following the session to select favorites. For weddings, I will sift through and eliminate the obvious files to be discarded. I will narrow the gallery pool down to approximately 60-70 images per hour of shooting. I will lightly edit these files when necessary. I will then sit down with the couple to pick their top images to consider for further edits.

For business owners, how does having a professional photographer add value to my business?

Short Answer

Providing consistent content will keep your business visible by Google.

Long Answer

Every business reaches new clients in different ways. Some people are audio learners, while others are visual. The key to communicating effectively with potential clients is to communicate with them in a way the prefer. Posting regularly to various social media platforms can do wonders for your community engagement. When you combine audio, written and visual content on your site, imagine the array of people you will reach. Google also prefers websites that have original content added at least once a month. The possibilities for growth are endless. Let’s get your business there, together.
